Lois and Clark or Superman Status

How long have you been watching L&C?
I found out about the show when it was first going to air and I watched it right from the pilot ... never missed an episode for four yrs not even when I lost cable in the middle of season two

How long have you been a fan of Superman?
Well, I have been a superhero fanatic ever since i first heard of the concept, and that was when I was still a toddler.

How long have you been writing?
I have been making up stories as long as I can remember, since before I could hold a pen. I used to tell tales when I got into trouble that were way past believable, and I used to paraphrase the fairy tales for my younger sister, i made them all connected. Then in grade school I started to write stories about me and my sisters and I have been writing ever since, tho I have to admit I have gotten much better since I started writing LnC stuff.

How long have you been writing L&C fanfic?
I started to write LnC fic when my son was about two yrs old so that would have made it about 1998. I started first on what turned into an epic and I am now rewritting it with help from Labrat (thanks Labby). The second thing that I wrote was The Interview and I was hooked then.

What types of Fanfic have you written?
I don't really have a type, I wander where the muse takes me. I have written a couple of relevation and I have written some crossover humor types. I have also done some alt-world stuff, totally new alt world stuff.

Most recent story posted? Where?
My most recent piece is Flight and it can be found on Zoom's boards and on Anne's site.

Favorite story you have written? Why?
I don't know if I have a favorite story, I used to really like Interview, but now I am thinking that Flight is better and I must admit that the reason has everything to do with the fdk that I get. I think that nothing that I write is any good, and when I get the fdk I have to admit to myself that maybe I did an ok job of getting across what I saw in my head.

Current project/projects?
Right now as I said earlier I am working on rewriting The Settlers, I have to admit that there is no way that I would have been able to do it without the help of Labrat. Beta readers are very important.

Personal picks of other Fanfics you have read?
This is too tough a question for me, I can tell you some of the authors that I keep an eye out for but then I would forget someone and hurt their feelings and I would not want to do that. But I guess not mentioning either hurts too, so I give this a shot. I tend to read avidly everything, but I do keep my eyes open for new stuff that gets written by Nan, Irene, Labrat, Wendy, Tank, Mobile, Ml Thompson, Pam Jerrigan, and there is more but my mind has blanked on me just like I knew it would. But then there are all sorts of new autors cropping up all the time with wonderful stories too, like Missy with Stragers and Helene with Near Wild Heaven, and and and ... darn I know there were more out there.. Rac and Cindy see I am hopeless.

General Interview Questions

What attracted you to writing Fanfic and what about it do you enjoy?
I read fast and copiously, books were costing too much and I missed the show dreadfully. Finding the archive was like falling into manna from the gods.

What about the L&C and the characters do you like the most?
I liked that Clark was the real person and that Superman was the disguise, that he was this guy who could do these amazing things and how he had to balance it all out and still try to get along in everyday life.

How do you interpret them in your work?
I never really thought of how I interpreted them, I think that since I liked the way that Clark was portrayed i follow pretty close to cannon in that aspect, but for the main part I just go with how I see the characters in general.

How did you begin writing in general?
Too much spare time, too much imagination. I had these little movies and scenes in my head and I wanted to share.

What are you working on now and where do you see it going?

What is your opinion about the following types of L&C fanfic's?
Action?

Drama?
I really like drama, I like to be transported right into the fic and get sucked into the storyline.

Humor?
I like them but i prefer it when its part of a story

Round Robin?
they are ok they are not my favorite

Nfic?
only if the nfic is part of a real story, I don't need to watch or read of others in bed thank you <g>

Has *everything* been done in your opinion, and if not, what is left?
I don't think that *everything* can be done, even if the same story is written twice by different authors they are both going to bring something of themselves into it and so its not going to be the *same* story after all. Someone once said that there was only seven plots in the world and if that is true then how come we have so many stories out there and so many being written all the time?

What do you think makes the best story?
The best stories in my opinion are the ones that get the reader involved

Where is the best place for a reader to locate your work?
Annette's site has some and the rest is either on the Fanfic Archive and then anything else that is missing is on zoom's msg boards
